Computershare Registry Services (New Zealand)
| Computershare Registry Services (New Zealand) announced its name
change early in the year in line with the group’s policy of a global
naming convention. At the same time the company’s IT infrastructure
was upgraded to allow staff to handle queries from both New
Zealand and Australian based client companies. |

The company had another successful year with the greatest
challenge being the successful management of the Contact Energy
float, which saw over 200,000 applications processed. The efficient
operation was achieved through the implementation of a pre-registration
process, the use of imaging technology and an
enormous effort by all of the registry staff.
Other highlights for the year include the float of Capital Properties
Ltd, the instalment receipt collection for Ameritech and the sell
down by Brierley Ltd of its holding in Sky City Ltd. The total number
of shareholder accounts managed now stands at approximately
1.7 million.
The
year ahead includes converting all New Zealand companies onto the
SCRIP system, providing registry information via internet technology
and further development in the use of imaging technology for registry
procedures. We look forward to making another significant contribution
to the group. |
