Web Technology
With the power of SCRIPCOMMS the range of services offered to clients will continue to expand. At the moment we offer proxy voting processes and company secretary reporting, with a range of new services anticipated in the near future. As well as providing enhanced access to information for our clients, SCRIPCOMMS technology will increase the efficiency of our internal operations by supporting an easily deployable and cost effective interface that registry staff can use to access registry systems. Computershare has also developed an on-line IPO (Initial Public Offer) system. This combines internet technology with SCRIPCOMMS to offer on-line application processing. Via the internet, applicants can view the company prospectus and apply for shares. Applications submitted in this way are automatically passed to the registry system and all information is protected by high level encryption. Shares can be paid for using the electronic banking system, BPAY, although cheques can still be sent to the registry office. When the offer has closed and shares are allocated, we have the ability to offer a web page for new shareholders to confirm the number of shares they own before trading begins. Once trading does begin, shareholders can view their shareholder details on the Computershare Registry Services website. This type of technology was used in Australia in 1999 and it is envisaged it will be available in all international offices in the near future.
