Managed Funds
Companies or trusts that offer a means of investing indirectly in shares (and other assets and securities). They combine money from many investors who seek a higher return by professional managers buy, sell and hold shares within a portfolio of investments
Management Company
A firm that organises, manages and administers a fund.
Market Capitalisation
A firm that organises, manages and administers a fund
Market Participants
Companies that meet the NZX's requirements and are more commonly referred to as Broker Firms
Market Price
Market Price represents the last reported price to buy or sell a security on the market
Market Value
The current value of an item or security, as opposed to its book value
Marketable Parcel
The minimum amount of securities of an Issuer that can be held
Marking
A notation placed upon a transfer indicating that there is a share certificate held by the Share Registry to support the transfer
Maturity Date
The date at which a fixed interest security matures and is due to be repaid by its Issuer
Merge
The consolidating of two or more identical shareholdings
Merger
Corporate restructuring in which two (or more) companies combine all or part of their operations
